The following people were sentenced at Northampton Magistrates’ Court:

MARCH 30

Alexandru-Nicusor Mihai, aged 21, of Kettering Road, Northampton, failed to provide a breath test; community order made to carry out 240 hours of unpaid work, ordered to pay a surcharge to victim services of £85 and costs of £85, banned from driving for 30 months. No insurance; fined £300. Driving not in accordance with a licence; no separate penalty.

APRIL 1

Vitalijus Ivanovas, aged 34, of Victoria Road, Northampton, stole beef joints worth £20.09 belonging to the Co-op; conditional discharge for six months, ordered to pay a surcharge to victim services of £20 and costs of £85.

APRIL 3

Mark Davies, aged 56, of Waypost Court, Northampton, stole football shirts worth £600 belonging to JD Sports; jailed for 84 days suspended for 12 months, ordered to pay a surcharge to victim services of £115, compensation of £600 and costs of £620. Stole meat worth £120 belonging to Tesco; jailed for 84 days concurrent suspended for 12 months, ordered to pay compensation of £120.

James Turnbull, aged 32, of Pilton Close, Rectory Farm, Northampton, stole a wallet and contents including cash worth £140; community order made, ordered to pay compensation of £140 and costs of £85. Stole money worth £30; community order made, ordered to pay compensation of £30. Assault; community order made, ordered to pay compensation of £50.

Ion Armanu, aged 26, of Gadesby Court, Northampton, drink-driving with a breath test reading of 60mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath; fined £360, ordered to pay a surcharge to victim services of £36 and costs of £85, banned from driving for 16 months. Driving not in accordance with a licence; no separate penalty. No insurance; no separate penalty.

Algis Auryla, aged 43, of Seymour Street, Northampton, drink-driving with a breath test reading of 40mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath; fined £340, ordered to pay a surcharge to victim services of £34 and costs of £85, banned from driving for 12 months.

John Tyson, aged 42, of Wordsworth Road, Daventry, drink and disorderly in a public place; conditional discharge for 18 months, ordered to pay a surcharge to victim services of £20 and costs of £85.

Dustin Mason, aged 45, of Park Avenue North, Northampton, stole make-up belonging to Debenhams; community order made, ordered to pay compensation of £200. Used threatening or abusive words or behaviour; no separate penalty.

Colton Thornhill, aged 40, of Eskdale Avenue, Northampton, stole household items and alcohol worth £41.18 belonging to Aldi; community order made. Stole six packs of bacon worth £20 belonging to Select convenience store; community order made and ordered to pay compensation of £20. Commission of a further offence while on a conditional discharge order for theft; no action taken on breach.

APRIL 5

Alan Willetts, aged 65, of May Bank, Daventry, assault; community order made to carry out 60 hours of unpaid work, ordered to pay a surcharge to victim services of £85 and costs of £85.

Dionne Dunne, aged 46, of Melbourne House, St James, Northampton, committed fraud relating to a stolen bank card; jailed for 28 days suspended for 12 months, ordered to pay a surcharge to victim services of £115 and costs of £85. Dishonestly received stolen goods, namely a Mastercard; jailed for 28 days concurrent suspended for 12 months. Failed to surrender to custody; jailed for seven days suspended for 12 months. Failed to comply with the requirements of a community order; no adjudication, dealt with original offence - theft of a Red Herring coat worth £69 belonging to Debenhams; jailed for 28 days consecutive suspended for 12 months. Theft of make-up from Boots worth £96; jailed for 28 days concurrent suspended for 12 months.

Dean Foster, aged 35, of Cloutsham Street, Northampton, stole three pairs of sunglasses worth £215 belonging to Boots; jailed for 27 days, ordered to pay a surcharge to victim services of £116. Commission of a further offence while on a suspended sentence; no adjudication, dealt with original offence - stole meat from Waitrose worth £46.01; suspended sentence of 42 days in jail suspended for 12 months imposed.

Stephen Pemberton, aged 52, of Rothersthorpe Road, Northampton, driving while disqualified; jailed for 84 days suspended for 12 months, ordered to pay a surcharge to victim services of £115 and costs of £85, banned from driving for nine months. No insurance; no separate penalty.

APRIL 7

David Mercer, aged 66, of Olympia Close, Northampton, driving at speeds of 96mph in a 70mph zone; fined £297, ordered to pay a surcharge to victim services of £30 and costs of £85, banned from driving for 30 days.

Michael Munnelly, aged 66, of Midfield Court, Northampton, driving without due care and attention; fined £138, ordered to pay a surcharge to victim services of £30 and costs of £85, licence endorsed with six points.

Gary Pearce, aged 46, of Stockmead Road, Northampton, driving at speeds exceeding 40mph limit; fined £300, ordered to pay a surcharge to victim services of £30 and costs of £85, licence endorsed with three points.

Vinay Babu, aged 26, of Helmdon Crescent, Northampton, driving without due care and attention; fined £293, ordered to pay a surcharge to victim services of £30 and costs of £85, licence endorsed with six points.

Zydrunas Bagdanskis, aged 42, of Baring Road, Northampton, failed to give information relating to the identity of a driver; fined £660, ordered to pay a surcharge to victim services of £66 and costs of £85, banned from driving for six months.

Violet Matthews, age not given, of Rushmere Road, Northampton, failed to stop at an accident; fined £80, ordered to pay a surcharge to victim services of £30 and costs of £85, licence endorsed with five points. Failed to report an accident to a police officer; no separate penalty.

Geoffrey Gent, aged 51, of Sidebrook Court, Northampton, committed fraud relating to withdraw £200 cash on someone else’s credit card; jailed for 182 days suspended for 12 months, ordered to pay a surcharge to victim services of £115, compensation of £285 and costs of £720.

Jake Gent, aged 26, of Skawle Court, Northampton, stole items belonging to another person; community order made to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work, ordered to pay a surcharge to victim services of £85 and costs of £720. Fraud relating to falsely using a credit card belonging to someone else to withdraw £200 cash; community order to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work.

APRIL 8:

Jon-Paul Owen, aged 43, of no fixed abode, stole handbag and shopping bag; jailed for 28 days concurrent suspended for 18 months, ordered to pay a surcharge to victim services of £115 and costs of £85. Assaulted a police officer; jailed for 56 days consecutive suspended for 18 months. Assault; jailed for 56 days suspended for 18 months, ordered to pay £50 compensation. Additional assault; jailed for 56 days concurrent suspended for 18 months, ordered to pay compensation of £50.

APRIL 10:

Jade Allison, aged 25, of Stanton Avenue, Northampton, failed to notify Northampton Borough Council of a change in circumstance; community order made, fined £120, ordered to pay a surcharge to victim services of £30 and costs of £85. Similar offence relating to Department for Work and Pensions; community order made. Commission of a further offence while subject to a conditional discharge order; no adjudication, dealt with original offence – committed fraud while dishonestly made a false representation; community order made.

Joanne Berry, aged 34, of Falcutt Way, Kingsthorpe, Northampton, drink-driving with a breath test reading of 140mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath; jailed for 70 days suspended for 12 months, ordered to pay a surcharge to victim services of £115 and costs of £85, banned from driving for 42 months. Driving not in accordance with a licence; no separate penalty.

Christopher Courtman, aged 27, of no fixed abode, assault; jailed for 70 days. Stole a tablet computer; jailed for 28 days consecutive. Damaged a window; jailed for seven days concurrent. Assault; jailed for 70 days consecutive.

Christopher Boddy, aged 24, of Barn Close, Grange Park, Northampton, drink-driving with a breath test reading of 50mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath; fined £323, ordered to pay a surcharge to victim services of £32 and costs of £85, banned from driving for 12 months.
