Police are appealing for witnesses after the windows of a patrol car were smashed while officers attended an incident on Hunsbarrow Road in Northampton.

The vehicle was parked at the junction of Knaphill Crescent at around 5,15pm yesterday, (Saturday, September 27) when the incident took place.

PC Will Corlett of the Northamptonshire Police response unit was one of the officers attending the ‘emergency incident’ on Hunsbarrow Road at the time.

Yesterday he tweeted: “Thanks to the person who bricked our police car window whilst we were at an emergency incident trying to help someone.

“Neither myself or my colleague are injured, but an emergency vehicle is now off the road when it could be put to good use.”

Anyone with information about the vandalised police car should call the force on the non-emergency number 101.
