A coroner has said she believes there were “no suspicious circumstances” in the death of a 48-year-old Northampton man whose body was found in his flat.

John Cadd was found dead in his apartment in the Newlife building in Upper Cross Street, on April 10 this year.

An inquest into his death, held at Northampton General Hospital, heard evidence from Detective Sergeant Liam O’Neill who was called to the scene.

Mr O’Neill said there was no sign of forced entry or a disturbance in the flat. Mr Cadd’s body did not have any injuries.

A post-mortem was unable to establish the cause of his death.

Dionne Boyes, Mr Cadd’s sister, said he was a “lovely, funny, intelligent, warm and caring” person who was missed greatly by his family.

County coroner Anne Pember recorded an open verdict in the case.

Mrs Pember said: “We are unable to say how Mr Cadd died. I do not think there is anything suspicious surrounding his death.”
